Hotel Overview
Patrick Corso, resort President & CEO, who has overseen the restoration of such legendary properties as Pinehurst in North Carolina and The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA, is overseeing the resort's many significant renovations and enhancements which are taking place over the next few years.
Extensive restoration of The Mount Washington Hotel's exterior, 900-foot wrap-around veranda and grand lobby began this project. The $2 million restoration project to these areas was completed in May 2007. An Adventure Desk located the Great Hall was added as part of the project. It offers advice and planning for each guest to create customized itineraries, based on personal preferences.
In response to the growing demand for meeting space at the Resort, approximately 20,000 additional square-feet of meeting space will be completed in December 2008. It will be designed to comfortably host meetings of any size, from the most intimate of groups up to 1,000-person events. "In the landscape architecture decisions made this winter, we looked to create a building which complements the existing structures, while preserving the legendary views from the south veranda," says Corso. A 25,000 square-foot, full-service spa, salon and fitness center will also be open and ready for business by Christmas, 2008.
Spa & Meeting Facility - Presidential Wing
On July 18, 2007, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the property's newest additions - new meeting space which will bring the resort's convention center to a total of 30,000 square-feet, and a full-service, 25,000 square-foot spa and salon. Resort President, Pat Corso and Managing Partner, Charles Adams, were both on hand to celebrate this development, which is a significant part of an extensive, $50 million renovation project ongoing at the property.
Mount Washington Resort, while an established leader in the ski and family markets, is now taking the steps needed to redefine itself as a noteworthy location for meetings and conferences. The new space will comfortably host meetings of any size, from the most intimate of groups up to 1,000-person events and the new spa and salon will add further cache to the property's extensive array of services and amenities. "I'm thrilled to announce this groundbreaking as it signals the continued growth of Mount Washington Resort - solidifying our place as the most extensive resort in New England," says Corso.
